NTC has a Publications Department that
takes care of the publications of the
college. Following are the important
publications that we publish:
Niyog is the College Annual
published yearly by New Theological
College. It contains glimpses of College
life during the academic year as well as
articles, poems, cartoons and other
creative works. These are the works of
students, staff, faculty, alumni and
friends of the college.
NTC Herald is a quarterly
newsletter of the college, which
contains news about the college and
various ministries related to us. Those
who wish to receive a copy of the NTC
Herald may kindly contact the
Publications Office.
NTC has
entered a new phase in its academic
pursuit with its first-ever theological
journal, Doon Theological Journal which
was released on 28 February 2004. For
NTC, which is comparatively a young
institution, this is a significant
achievement. The journal is published
half-yearly in the month of March and
September. The journal contains academic
writings primarily from the members of
the faculty of NTC and also the faculty
of the Presbyterian Theological
Seminary, Dehra Dun. While NTC owns this
journal, we are glad to publish quality
theological articles of other
theological writers from India and
overseas. While writers have the freedom
to express their own views, it is
expected that they be in agreement with
the theological position of DTJ, which
may be obtained from the Editor.
Doon Theological
Journal has exchange
program with a number of national and
international theological and religious journals. We
trust that such an academic partnership
will be of immense help in keeping
abreast of the cutting edge of national
and international scholarship. Those who
wish to consider an exchange may
kindly contact the Managing Editor at dtjournal@gmail.com
We trust that this new venture will be a
significant contribution to
theological education and reflection
particularly in India.
Information regarding the journal may be
available at the DTJ website
www.dtjournal.ac.in.Those who wish to
receive a copy of the journal may kindly
contact: The Editor, Doon Theological
Journal, New Theological College, P. O.
Kulhan, Dehradun- 248 001, INDIA. An
electronic version of manuscripts should
also be sent in popular word processor
at dtjournal@gmail.com

Theological Journal is abstracted in

There is evidently a
need for a high quality song book that
combines Hindi and English songs that
are most commonly sung in churches. The
idea of such a song book was birthed
from the need NTC faced for a song book
with hymns and choruses in Hindi and
English that are conducive for worship
in chapel services and Sunday worship.
It was to fulfil that need NTC published
“Songs of Praise.” We are pleasantly
surprised by the constant high demand
for this book. We have published the
sixth edition of “Songs of Praise” which
has 1200 songs both in English and
Hindi. This song book is available both
in paperback and hardbound editions.
Those who are interested in obtaining
copies of this song book may kindly
contact the Business Office, NTC.

In North India, Hindi is
spoken as the mother tongue by over four
hundred million people. The Church in
the “Hindi Belt” is in dire need of
quality publications in Biblical
Studies, Theology, Church History and
other related fields. Even basic
Christian books in these fields are not
available in Hindi. Hindi speaking
pastors have no access to good
commentaries or Bible dictionaries. For
the Hindi speaking Church to become
strong and mature in Christian faith,
serious attention has to be given to the
publication of good quality books in
Hindi. From the beginning of our
ministry NTC has had a great desire to
see quality books published in Hindi. We
have been praying for this for a long
time. God gave the same burden to Dr.
Timothy Tennent, Professor of Missions,
Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Dr.
Tennent is an Adjunct Faculty member and
a great friend of NTC. He is an author
and editor, who has already published
books on Indian Christian Theology.
We have so far translated - "An
Introduction to Indian Church History"
by C. B. Firth. The translation of "Yesu
Das: Witness of a Convert", by Dr. Ravi
Tiwari; "The History of Ecumenical
Movement", by Snaitang; and "Master Plan
of Evangelism" by R. Culmann is in its
final stage and will be published very
soon. The translation of "Introduction
to Christian Theology", by Owen C.
Thomas is also in progress. We have
published an "English-Hindi Glossary" by
Rev. Roji T. George which contains the
contemporary theological terms in Hindi
with its meaning.
You can place your
order for these books through our
website.
Future Projects: The Publications
Department has plans to translate many
more books into Hindi. We also plan to
publish original works by the members of
our faculty as well as other capable
writers. We look forward to the help of
God’s people in this endeavour.
We are looking for people who can help
us with translation work. If you have a
B.D. degree from a recognized
theological institution, good knowledge
of written & spoken Hindi, Punjabi and
Oriya and a burden to
see excellent books published in Hindi
you may be able to help. If you have the
necessary skills to translate good
quality books please contact the
Coordinator, Department of Publications
for details. Enquiries may be made to
