Vision of the College

1. Proclamation of the Gospel

The core of New Theological College's vision is the proclamation of the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit to all unreached people groups of India.

We want to see the Church of Jesus Christ established among every ethnic group ("Jathi") in accordance with Mathew 24:14; 28:19-20; Rev. 5:9-10. We firmly believe that the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ can uplift the downtrodden millions of India. Bible clearly declares that every human being is made in God's image and that God loves ALL human beings irrespective of their caste, colour, or creed. In His eyes there are no superior people and inferior people. He loves all alike. This truth must be declared loud and clear in our land. This Good News speaks against the evils in our society such as violence against women and Dalits, discrimination, oppressive exploitation, corruption, communalism and religious bigotry. Gospel can and does change lives for the better. Wherever Gospel has taken roots in India, there people are set free from these age-old oppressions. Gospel is the best 'nation building tool' that we have. So, since we truly love India, we must preach this Gospel of God's love for all people.

2. Training Labourers for the Lord's Vineyard

To see this vision of reaching all the peoples of India with the Gospel fulfilled, God has given us the primary responsibility of training men and women "to prepare God's people for the works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ" (Ephesians 4:12,13 NIV).

Our goal is to run a first class theological college that combines spiritual fervour with academic excellence. Neither should be sacrificed at the expense of the other. The main thrust of the institution is to train relevant and effective Christian leaders who are passionate about winning India for Christ and who are capable of ministering to the many needs of the Indian Church.

3. Holistic Ministry

Jesus told us that we are to be light and salt in the world. We do not exist for ourselves. We are called to be sources of blessing for others. God's purpose in calling us and separating us is to bless the whole world through us. In our land of India millions live without even their basic needs being met. As true Christians we cannot close our eyes to these needy brothers and sisters. We must identify with these just as Jesus identified with us in His incarnation. Thus we believe in a holistic ministry. We want to do all we can to help the "least of these brothers of mine" (See Matthew 25: 40). We are to actively help the poor and the needy in any and all the ways we can.

4. Unity of the Children of God

While we are an institution that emphasizes the charismata of the Holy Spirit, we also stand for the essential unity of God's children irrespective of their denominational differences. We are proud to have over forty denominations represented in our student body. We stand for the unity of the Church of our Lord Jesus Christ.
