A candidate desiring to enter the college for any degree program must file a duly completed formal application on or before 30th Nov for Jan Entrance Exam and 30th Mar for May Entrance Exam. Luther W. New Jr. Theological College does not discriminate on the basis of gender, marital status, national or ethnic origin, language or denomination in its admission policies.

Requirements for Admission:
Beyond the other requirements prescribed along with the respective courses, the following qualifying factors are very much essential for admission at NTC:

  • A personal Christian experience/testimony
  • Assurance of a divine call for full time ministry
  • Church Membership Certificate
  • Satisfactory evidence of Christian character
  • A desire to pursue academic studies
  • Willingness to work hard
  • Good physical and mental health
  • Willingness to abide by the rules, regulations, and ethos of the college
  • Letters of Recommendation/Reference:
    • A Letter from the applicant's pastor
    • A Letter from the official of the applicant's church or organization, in the case of sponsored candidates (the church official may be President, Superintendent, Overseer, Bishop or District Minister).
    • A Letter from a responsible Christian leader/friend
Entrance Examination

The college conducts an entrance examination in different centres in India for its degree programs. Admission to these degree programs is subject to the successful passing of the Entrance Examination. The Entrance Examination covers the following areas:

  • Bible knowledge
  • General knowledge
  • English

Bible and General knowledge shall be tested in a one sitting examination of three hours. The English examination shall be of two hours. However, the candidates applying for the BD or M.Div. programs after the successful completion of B. Th. are required to write a comprehensive examination in place of Bible Knowledge and General Knowledge, that covers areas of Biblical Studies, Theology, Ethics, Religion, History of Christianity, Christian ministry and Mission.
Personal Interview

All the applicants seeking admission to the college including the C.Th. applicants must appear for a personal interview in the college following the entrance examination on a date prescribed by the college.
